Intrado were appointed as Engineers for the £2 million scheme at Newbridge Comprehensive School. The project consisted the demolition of the existing single storey Music and Drama rooms and replaced with a three storey, nine classroom steel framed structure with composite floor and a steel frame cladding system. Intrado were appointed and civil and structural engineers for the £3.5 million 600 seater Auditorium, Refectory and Sixth Form Centre with roof terrace. The new build will also feature additional teaching and co-curricular facilities. The steel frame was designed to suit the architectural intent for the scheme. This was achieved with a braced steel frame with long span castellated beam to accommodate the large double storey auditorium.
