Whiteley Village

Intrado were the appointed Civil and Structural Engineers on the Care Hub at Whiteley Village in Surrey.  The new care hub provides a modern 30-bed care home across two floors plus communal space for residents. Also a bistro style café, offices and health suite offers facilities for all village residents to enjoy.  The new care hub revolutionises the way Whiteley offers clinical care within the community, providing intensive care capacity for up to 30 people with complex needs associated with old age. This includes space for visiting families to stay with their loved ones, consultation rooms for visiting health professionals from the local GP practice/NHS, therapy space, and a large café to provide a new social venue at the heart of the village.

The superstructure is a combination of steel frame to the rotunda of the bistro café and a timber frame for the care home, supported on strip foundations with an integral retaining wall to take account of the topography of the land.
